14 Lethbridge Presents The Word On The Street In 2018, Lethbridge Presents made tickets and passes available to Lethbridge Public Library cardholders for 43 different community events and attractions thanks to our 35 partner organizations. Overall there were 840 draw winners, and opportunities were provided for 20,586 people to attend these activities. 2018's The Word On The Street took place on Saturday, September 22, and despite drizzly weather and chilly temperatures between 2–5 C, more than 3,300 dedicated festival goers joined us throughout the day. ethbridge Presents is made possible through a partnership of community-minded organizations and individuals. A big thanks to all of our new and continuing community partners in 2018. Throughout 2018 Lethbridge Presents continued to grow as a way to access events and venues in and about our community, forming new and revitalizing previous partnerships to add new passes and draws to the program: • Tickets to Lethbridge Pride Fest dances and social events • Tickets to Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organization's production of Titanic • Lethbridge Sport and Social Club annual memberships • Learn to Run Clinic passes from Runner's Sole • Pass Powderkeg family ski passes • Swing Bridge Dance Club monthly drop-in passes • Umami Shop cooking class passes e were please to welcome Angie Abdou, S.K. Ali, Pauline Dakin, Joy Fielding, Faith Erin Hicks, E.K. Johnston, Roy MacGregor, and Martin Parnell as headliners, part of a line-up of 27 authors and illustrators from across Canada. 2018 was the first time we offered live-event captioning for our adult author stages, and American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters for different parts of the program, to make the event more accessible to everyone in our community. Indigenous cultural programming and presentations were offered throughout the day as part of the festival, hosted this year in a tipi provided by the Sik-Ooh-Kotoki Friendship Society.
