Festival Happenings CVS Midwest Tape Kids' Corner (Inside the Library) 11:15am - Blackfoot Stories with Francis First Charger Join Francis First Charger for stories from the heritage of the Blackfoot people. 12:00pm - Nikka Yuko Presents: Storytime with Tad and Tomo Come listen to Tad Mitsui tell Japanese folk stories such as Peach Boy and Tama the station master cat. Tad will be joined by our own Nikka Yuko greeting neko mascot Tomo. 2:00pm - Drag Story Time for Everyone Celebrate diversity and have a super fun time with Drag Story Time! Meet our glamorous drag royalty in the kids' corner of the Children's Department, where they'll be sharing stories, rhymes, and songs. All families and friends are welcome to join us for this fabulous celebration with local drag monarch Killa Watt, and other special guests. All day - Frontier College Literacy Activities Aimed at all ages, the Reading Tent has physical and non- physical activities based on reading and writing. Activities include reading books, making your own bookmark, making your own journal, and story writing. Select a free book to take home! Scavenger Hunt – All day Make sure to stop by the information booth in the marketplace to take part in the Global News Scavenger Hunt. Find all the clues before the evening news to get a prize! Suitable for all ages; prizes for adults, kids, and teens. A picture is worth a thousand words. Take a snapshot of the festival and tweet or Instagram it with the tag #WOTSyql and be entered in for an extra prize draw! Special Presentations 4:00pm - Kids' Zone Stage: Rocky Mountain Book Award Presentation Join the members of this Alberta-wide children's readers' choice awards as they present the medal to Alex Lyttle, 2019 award winner for his book From Ant to Eagle, and hear Alex speak about his new book The Rise of Winter. 4:00pm - Teen Zone Stage: Teen Writing Contest Winners Students in grades 7-12 have submitted their best short stories to a committee of volunteer judges to be critiqued on the entertainment value and writing quality of their work. The top three contestants will be reading and a winner will be announced!
